HOME HEALTH

Verdugo Hills Hospital offers a home health care program to meet the medical and personal needs of patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Home Health is a state-licensed home health agency that provides quality medical services to individuals recovering from an illness or accident. Homebound patients who require intermittent skilled nursing, rehabilitation treatment or psychiatric care may be eligible to receive home care. Some of the most common requests for home care come from persons who have an injury, cancer, heart disease or postoperative needs.

Home Health services must be ordered by a patient’s physician. The Home Health team then works with the physician to develop a personal plan of care that may include any of the following licensed professionals:

  • Skilled Nursing Care
  • Physical Therapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Speech Therapists
  • Certified Home Health Aids
  • Medical Social Workers
  • Dieticians

Home Health is Medicare and Medi-Cal certified and is a member of the California Association of Health Services at Home. Most insurance companies cover home health services as prescribed by a physician.
